Earlier this month the Councillor for Tourism, Augusto Gil, held a meeting with the owners of various hostelries in Manilva to finalise details for the forthcoming programme ‘Ruta del Tapeo’.

The first of these ‘tapas runs’ wil take place on Sunday, 4th November, and will be repeated every Sunday from 12.30 pm to 4 pm, until the 25th May.

This iniciative has two objectives, that of promoting local establishments in the town of Manilva itself, as well as creating yet another attraction to bring in visitors to the municipality.

The ‘Route’ will being at the top of Calle Mar, at Bar Ocaña and proceed to  Venta La Socia, Cafetería Nacho, el Bodegón Andaluz, Bar Castillo, Bar Rojas, Bar Luque, Bar El Lerele, Rincón del Cazador, La Pedreta and Los Linares.

During the ‘Tapas Run’ a drink and tapa will cost you a flat rate of €1.50, with each establishment offering its speciality dishes along with the usual tapas selection.

All visitors will be entitled to an hour free parking in the Car Park behind the Police Station, and during the event Calle Mar will be closed to traffic.

Augusto Gil hopes that through this ‘Ruta del Tapeo’ it will restore one of the municipality’s traditions, and would encourage everyone to come along and enjoy this event, and make it a success.

‘Ruta del Tapeo’ Prize Draw

To coincide with the Ruta del Tapeo programme the Town Hall are holding a prize draw to win a trip for two people for one week at the Rivera Maya,.

To participate in the draw it is necessary to complete a coupon, available from participating venues.

To complete it, you must get each establishment to put their stamp in the corresponding space. The more coupons you fill, the more chance you have of winning this magnificent trip.

The draw will take place on the 25th of May at the Town Hall in Calle Mar, No. 34 at 4pm.
