This fiesta on Wednesday, 25th August, 2010 celebrates San Luis the Patron Saint of Sabinillas. The day kicks off in traditional fashion at 8.00 am with rockets and a parade by the Town Band through the streets of Sabinillas. At 11 am the children’s activities begin in Plaza Vicente Espinel organised by the children’s entertainers group. In the afternoon there is a Mass in honour of the patron accompanied by the Church Choir. After which the Saint’s statue is taken in procession through the streets of the village accompanied by the town band. Music and dancing in the Plaza Vicente Espinel from 10.00 pm until the early hours of the morning. |

Manilva celebrates its annual summer fair each year during the second week of August. This year the dates are from Thursday, 5th August to Sunday, 8th August inclusive. Apart from the cavalcades most of the activities focus around the fairground on the Rio Manilva Road.

On July 26th Manilva celebrates its patron saint Santa Ana with a day of festivities in which locals and visitors can enjoy processions, music and dancing until the early hours of the morning. Here is the programme for the day: 8 am. Early start with the festival band (charanga) 'Chichipom' performing in the streets of the town accompanied by rockets!
In the afternoon there is a Mass at the Santa Ana church accompanied by the Santa Ana Choir followed by a procession of the Saint through the streets of Manilva accompanied by the Manilva Town Band. 10 pm. After a presentation of awards and trophies for various tournaments and contests there will be music and dancing in Calle Mar to the sounds of the groups "Latidos" and "Cruceros" until the early hours of the morning. |

Manilva's Foreigners Departments is once again organising its popular Summer Spanish Course this year. Beginning on the 5th July the course will run for the months of July and August with two 2 hour lessons each week totalling 40 hours per course. Lesson are available at three different levels: Beginners I and II, and intermediate. Groups are generally small - 8-10 people, and lessons involve practical exercises and conversation. The cost is 70 euros per person for residents registered with the Manilva Town Hall, and 90 euros for others. To enrol visit the Foreign Residents Department at the Castle in Castillo or after 3.30 pm at the Tourist Office in Duquesa Port. This weekend Manilva celebrates its annual romeria in honour of Our Lady of Fatima which takes place in and around the chapel of San Adolfo close to the La Hedionda Roman baths on the 28th, 29th and 30th May. |
