Manilva football donates match money to Haiti |

In response to the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti, Union Manilva football club are donating the proceeds from the gate to the relief effort. These include all the youth matches being played this evening as well as the league match against Coín at Manilva's Las Viñas football ground tomorrow, Saturday kicking off at 4.30 pm and the juniors versus Peña de los Compadres on Sunday also at 4.30 pm. A great opportunity to enjoy some local sport as well as support the people of Haiti. |

Manilva Town Hall and utility company Aquagest sign water deal |

In a recent ceremony attended by the Mayoress of Manilva, Antonia Muñoz, and Rogerio Koehn, representating Aquagest, along with a number of councillors, the document was finally signed contracting Aquagest to provide water and sewerage services for the next 15 years. |

Manilva's Commerce Department, in collaboration with the ACOEME and ACEMCE business associations, are promoting a discount campaign under banner 'Sabinillas Open Market'. Shoppers can use special vouchers to obtain discounts of 1, 5, 10 or 20 euros off purchases in participating establishments. |

1st Foreign Residents' Meeting of the Western Costa del Sol |

On Friday, 18th December, the Coalition of Western Costa del Sol Municipalities (Mancomunidad) are organising a Foreign Residents' Night in the Pabellon de la Juventud, next to the football ground in Manilva. Starting at 7 pm there will be an opportunity to enjoy various music and entertainment acts along with the chance to sample food from around the world. Programme 7.00 pm Presentation and inauguration by The Mayoress, Antonia Muñoz, Councillor for Foreigners, Diego Urieta, and Nicky Conway-Hann. 7.30 pm Performance by the Municipal Flamenco School of Manilva 8.00 pm Christmas Carols by ASABAM 8.30 pm World Music by Chico Fargas and Group 9.00 pm A chance to sample food from around the world 9.30 pm Yplacea Dance School, directed by Paulina Partal 10.10 pm Colombian Dancing by Dona and her friends 10.30 pm Performance by Welsh Tenor Stephen Lloyd Morgan |

Manilva's Culture Department is putting together a programme of events and activities for this winter, included in which is a trip to Madrid, Toledo and Segovia scheduled for the 26th February to 1st March inclusive. |

During an Extraordinary Council Meeting on Monday, 23rd November the thorny issue of which company was to be awarded the contract to manage Manilva's water and sewerage provision was finally resolved. |

Emergency services were called to attend a fire in the underground car park in Puerto del la Duquesa tonight (Friday, 20th November) at around 9.30 pm.
Three fire engines were quickly on hand along with police and auxiliary units. Whilst the fire was limited to the underground area and quickly brought under control, there was smoke damage to some of the businesses on the first level of the Port, including Bojangles nightclub.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries.
