Last month over 60 local women and girls braved a hot sunny, Sunday morning to take part in a sponsored walk in aid of Cancer Research.

Set on their way by the Councillor for EU Citizens and Foreign Residents, Rafael Men, they walked the 5 kilometres from Castillo along the promenade to the Rio Manilva at the far end of Sabinillas and back to the Penguin Bar in Puerto de la Duquesa for much need refreshments.

These ‘Pink Ladies' managed to raise several thousand euros all of which will be donated to Cancer Research.

The organisers wish to thank all the participants as well as the individuals and businesses who sponsored the event.
