Planning Department to complete PGOU Print

The architect responsible for compiling Manilva's Town Planning document, Damián Quero, met last month with the Mayor, Salvador Zotano, the Councillor for Public Works, Jose Benitez, the manager of the Planning Office, Juan Herrera, the Finance Officer, Carlos Gomez, along with representatives if the ASM and IU political groups, and technicians from the Planning Office.

The object of this meeting was to handover to the new independent Planning Office responsibility for completing the final draft of PGOU (Plan General de Ordenación Urbana ) Town Plan.

It was during the preliminary stages of this process that the necessity for an independent Planning Office, transcending political considerations, became apparent, and that now that this office exists it is logical that it should assume the responsibility for the PGOU “in line with common practice in other parts of Spain, and also because the personnel of the Planning Office are in the ideal position to implement the Plan in the best interests of the people of Manilva”.

Juan Herrera, the Manager of the Planning Office has stated that they will still consult closely with Damián Quero whose work on the PGOU so far has been invaluable and has even earned congratulations from the Junta de Andalucia.

Herrera has stated that their objective is to have the Plan ready within a period of four months once some suggested alterations suggested by local residents have been made.

The transfer of the Planning Management Office from the Town Hall to its new offices next to the Municipal School of Music above the car park in Manilva. Juan Herrera has apologised for any delays which may occur during this period whilst all documents and information is transferred to their new home after which they will be fully operational.
