Manilva Television

Manilva has both a television and radio station serving the local community with an extensive schedule of daily broadcasting.

Founded in 1994 and employing around 20 people you will often see the Manilva Television outside broadcast cameras out and about filming the day-to-day life of the municipality. They cover a wide range of subjects including live broadcasts of local festivals, concerts, school events, local sports, etc. If you miss the local football match then you can watch the entire fixture on Manilva TV the following day!

They also broadcast a thirty minute news programme three times a day during the week with a thirty minute round up of the week's most important news items at the weekends. This programme covers all the important developments in this fast growing region of Andalucia and keeps the population up to speed with the political scene in Manilva.

On top of this is the regular local sports programme ‘La Grada' – literally ‘Grandstand', as well as interviews with local councillors which give the local population their chance to put questions to their representatives.

Beyond these locally produced programmes are various films, documentaries and series for people of all ages and interests.

Given the large English speaking population of Manilva the station has plans to produce and broadcast some programmes in English, including a news programme and films in their original language.

You can help determine the content of this schedule by filling out the questionnaire which was mailed to all residents registered on the Padron, or which can be found at www.manilvalife.com/tv
