New School for Sabinillas/Duquesa Print

Works on new school to start in March

Construction will begin next month of the new infant/primary school which will be located behind the Pueblo Mexicano and Arenal Duquesa developments, and close to Puerto de la Duquesa, according to an announcement by the Junta de Andalucia Education Department's architect and a representative of the construction company Cartuja Inmobiliaria who are contracted to build the school, which is expected to be ready for the next academic year's infant intake in September this year.

The regional government, the Junta de Andalucia, are to fund 100% of the construction costs with the 13,236 square metre site having been provided by the Manilva authorities.

The new school will consist of 6 classrooms for infants (age 3 to 5) and 4 classrooms at primary level up to the 4th year (age 6 to 10); a computer science lab; a multipurpose room; library; gymnasium and changing rooms. There will also be all the necessary facilities for teachers and administrative staff as well as dining facilities for pupils and staff.
