The Department for Employment Creation and Local Development presents a number
of free courses for the self-employed of Manilva
The councillor for Employment Creation and Local Development, Rafael Mena,
together with Rafael Zúñiga, President of the Manilva Business
Association and Francisco Jesús Román Urieta, representing the
General Workers Union; have presented a programme of courses on offer the self-employed
workers in the area.
The Manilva Town Council who, together with the Territorial Union for Local
Development “Sierra Bermeja” have identified the necessary formative
skills of use to the self employed and have opted to provide, free of charge,
up to five courses supplied by the National Plan for Further Education and Training.
Under this scheme those that sign up with the Department of Job Development
will be able to avail themselves of courses in Word Processing, Office Systems,
Basic Computer Accounting, Basic Business English and Risk Assessment and Prevention.
According to Rafael Mena Manilva is at a crucial stage in its development which
is why the Council will do what it can to develop and support local businesses
and retailers since they constitute a substantial source of wealth and employment.
For Mena these courses will provide useful tools in the hands of all those
that attend them. They will serve, said the councillor, to improve the efficiency
of the respective businesses and traders which will improve the level of service
and quality of end product to the consumer.
The Mayor, Salvador Zotano, considers this another positive strategy developed
jointly between local business and the Town Hall administration to secure the
future growth of local businesses and industry.
