Agreement signed for works to start on new sports complex and underground
car park
In December the Mayor, Salvador Zotano, representing the Town Hall and Ramón
Antonio Gómez, representing the construction company Vera Construcciones
signed an agreement which will see the construction of the new sports complex
and underground car park on the site of the old football ground in Sabinillas.
The terms of the contract call for works to be completed, and the 12,000 square
metres of sporting facilities will be available for use, by twelve months from
this date.
Salvador Zotano expressed his “satisfaction at this agreement, which
will further improve Manilva’s already excellent sporting facilities,
whilst at the same time going a long way to alleviate Sabinillas’s chronic
parking problems” The Mayor continued his statement pointing out that
“this will also be the site of the new health centre which will provide
health care for Sabinillas’s current population and to continue to do
so as it grows in number”.
Salvador Zotano reminded us that the new sporting development will provide
a sports hall, an indoor swimming pool, an all-weather artificial 7-a-side football
pitch, tennis and paddle courts, as well as changing facilities, a bar and leisure
areas.
A ceremony was held on Wednesday 21st December at 1 pm for a symbolic laying
of the first stone and the burial of a time capsule.
