The Mayor Requests Technical Review of Urbanisation Planning Agreements
On Monday, 14th November, the Mayor of Manilva, Salvador Zotano, signed a decree
in which he requested that the Municipal Technical Services department prepare
a report on the planning agreement between the Ayuntamiento and the promoter
Ros y Falcon S.A. signed on the 14th September.
The purpose of the report is to ascertain the conditions and technical merits
of the agreement and whether any alterations or amendments need to be made before
the project begins.
The Mayor was keen to point out that it is not just this agreement that is
under scrutiny and that other projects were also under review.
“The object of this process is to show that the Mayor and the governing
body will uphold the public interest above all other considerations” affirmed
Salvador Zotano, who would also like to reiterate that “honesty and transparency”
will characterise this present administration, a fact that was reinforced by
the creation of the new Department of Urbanisation, Homes and Infrastructure
whose statutes will be approved in the Plenary session at the beginning of the
month.
The Mayor again emphasised that this team will also represent the views of
the opposition members.
Also before each planning meeting, the Urbanisation, Planning and Infrastructure
Management department will present a technical document which will be fundamental
to any planning approvals.
