Zotano Designates the Areas of Responsibility for the New Government Team
After the leftwing coalition of the ASM (Manilva Socialist Group) and IU (United
Left) parties rejected the offer to be involved in the Town Council’s
governing body, the recently elected Mayor, Salvador Zotano, has delegated responsibility
for the various government departments to the councillors who supported his
election.
This means that now all the council departments are headed by the Mayor, the
five PDEM (Manilva Democrat Party) and the Independent - Carlos
Gómez.
The delegates are as follows:
Francisco Miguel Álvarez – Education and Culture; Municipal Representative
to the “Las Viñas” Secondary School; Municipal Dance School;
Tourism, Promotion and Public Image.
José Benítez Benítez – Water, Infrastructure, Sanitation,
Provincial Planning; Parks and Gardens.
Manuel Ramos Burgos – Agriculture; Coasts and Beaches; Environment.
Rafael Mena González – Human Resources; Job Creation; Youth;
Sports; Local Development; EU Citizens and Foreigners
Pedro Flores Medina – Fisheries; Social Rights; Fiestas and Ferias;
Industry and Commerce
Carlos Gómez Zotano – Taxes, Equality Opportunities
These positions will be confirmed at the first Plenary Session of the Council.
The Mayor, Salvador Zotano, has declared though, that the door is by no means
closed to the ASM and IU Councillors and that participation in the Government
of Manilva is open to all members, regardless of their political affiliations,
so long as they collaborate with him for the good of all of Manilva’s
various social groups.
