Manilva to Host Europe’s First Disney Family Golf Tournament

The councillor in charge of Manilva’s Tourism Promotion Office, Francisco Miguel Álvarez, has put the final touches to preparations to welcome the contestants for next month’s Disney Family Golf Tournament of Manilva.

In total 44 pairs of players from all over Spain will compete in this unique event to be held at La Duquesa Golf Club, Manilva on the 4th, 5th and 6th November.

The competition, which has been organised by the Manilva Tourism Office, along with the Walt Disney Company and sponsored by Evamarina is open to pairs comprising boys or girls aged 7 to 10 years old and their mothers or fathers. All entrants have won major golf championships staged by Spain’s regional golf federations, and are some of the best young golfers in Spain.

Along with the players and officials there will be various Walt Disney characters appearing and as well as trophies for the winners, one lucky pair will be drawn for a trip to Euro Disney in Paris.

All the contestants’ expenses will be met by the organisers and they will be accommodated locally in Manilva.

Tourism Councillor, Francisco Miguel Álvarez, met with Miguel del Cerro, Director General of DC y B Comunicación SL and Javier Sansierra, the Walt Disney Company’s Sporting Director, who visited Manilva recently and confirmed their pleasure at choosing Manilva as an ideal location for this new tournament.
