7.2 million euro Contract awarded for Sabinillas Sports Complex Project
The governing body of the Manilva Town Council met recently to award the contract
to construct the new Sports Complex development. The contract was won by UTE
Vera Construcciones y Gea 21 and is valued at 7,184,669 euros.
The commencement of this ambitious project is expected in the coming weeks
and it is estimated that completion will be towards the end of 2006.
The location of this state-of-the-art sports centre is on the site of the old
football ground in Sabinillas and will be situated adjacent to the new Sabinillas
health centre which will be built at the same time.
Not only will the sports complex include an indoor swimming pool, squash courts,
sports hall, paddle and tennis courts as well as an artificial 7-a-side football
pitch, but will also feature an underground car park which will go a long way
to solving the parking problems at this end of the village.
This development will cater for the sporting and recreational needs of the
community for the foreseeable future and, along with the various other projects
currently planned or underway, will add greatly to the attraction of this area
for both tourists and residents. |
