The Health Department of Manilva Town Council has announced the introduction of 24-hr local ambulance cover.

OMIC (Oficina Municipal de Informacion al Consumidor), the Manilva consumer information bureau, processed a total of 222 claims brought by the public last year, almost three times the number of the previous year; 2004 seeing 64 cases.

The Mayor of Manilva orders demolition of illegal construction

The Mayor of Manilva, Salvador Zotano, has signed an order demanding the demolition of Block 6 of the Cortijos Altos development which it has been established is being constructed on public land which is designated as a green zone.

Presenting the local Civil Protection force

Manilva’s Civil Defense force was officially unveiled in an act which took place at the Villa Matilda last month. In attendance was the Mayor, Salvador Zotano, in his role of head of security, Councillor Rafael Mena, the council officer in charge of security, Juan Jesus Jiménez and Local Police Chief, Francisco Luque, amongst other municipal officers.

Schoolchildren see stars!

Towards the end of February local schoolchildren were treated to a unique opportunity to learn more about the universe thanks to the Councillor for Culture and Education, Francisco Miguel Alvarez who, along with the manager of the Sabinillas branch of La Caixa bank, arranged for the La Caixa sponsored mobile planetarium to visit Manilva.
