Saturday, 30th
The Manilva Department of EU citizens and foreign residents will be organising a trip to Granada on Saturday, 30th September.
The coach will leave at 9 am and the first stop will be at the Granada Science Park to visit the Titanic Exhibition. This touring exhibition presents the story of the Titanic, with original items, images, documents and reconstructions.
It is a chronological journey from the moment that the vessel set sail until it disappeared beneath the icy waters of the Atlantic.
The exhibition is divided into three major sections:
“Original items”, recovered after the boat sunk, on loan from a few survivors.
“The real history of the vessel”, researched by historian C.G. Wetterholm and told through the various areas that make up the exhibition.
“Recreations of parts of the Titanic”, where you can see what the main bow staircase, the watertight doors, a first class and third class cabin, a first class corridor, and one of the propellers were like. You can even touch a huge iceberg.
You will spend two hours in the exhibition after which you will be dropped off in the city centre where you will be free to explore this fabulous city and sample its famous history and hospitality. The coach returns 7.30 pm.
The cost of this excursion is 10 euros and includes coach and entrance to the Titanic Exhibition.
Although the trip does not include a visit to the Alhambra if anyone wishes to visit the famous Moorish Palace and its gardens, the organisers can reserve entrance tickets for you if they are available.
