The Town Hall have announced the creation of some 650 temporary parking spaces to cater for the heavy summer demand.

As from 15th July a number of sites will be available for parking over the summer. Included in this project is the strip of land behind the properties opposite the green area between Duquesa Port and Castillo. This land is municipal land which has been in a state of neglect for many years.

Another 300 places will be made available on a strip of land between Manilva Autos and the La Duquesa Golf club which has been cleared and dressed with compacted gravel.

Finally, a further 350 places will be available in the underground car park of the Sabinillas Sports Complex, this is as a result of an agreement between the Town Hall and Vera y Gea 21, the contractor involved in the construction of the centre.

These parking areas will be available from the middle of July to the end of August and will be supervised by municipal personnel.

As a footnote to this item a Town Hall spokesperson has indicated that works on the Sabinillas Sports Centre are expected to resume in mid September.
