Manilva's Councillor for Tourism, Augusto Gil, along with a number of owners of various hostelries in Manilva have arranged a programme of gastronomic events entitled 'Ruta del Tapeo'.

The result of this collaboration was the first of these 'tapas runs' which took place on Sunday, 4th November, and will be repeated every Sunday from 12.30 pm to 4 pm, until the 25th May.

The day was a great success with plenty of people enjoying the good weather and strolling around the town trying out the various tapas on offer. The Manilva Town Band was on hand to perform as were a number of street entertainers including 'Mr Bean'.

The 'Route' begins at Venta La Socia who’s speciality is callos, followed by Rincon del Cazador - venao, Los Linares - choquito a la plancha, Bar Rojas - ensaladilla rusa, Cafeteria Nacho - gambas al pil-pil, Bodegon Andaluz - carne mecha con chorizo, Bar Castillo - montaditos variados, Bar Ocaña - pollo al curry, Bar Luque - brocheta de carne, Bar El Lerele - cazon en adobo, La Pedreta - carne al toro.

Augusto Gil hopes that through this 'Ruta del Tapeo' one of the municipality's traditions will be restored, and he would encourage everyone to come along and enjoy this event, and make it a success.
