Following recent meetings and the passing of local ordinances regarding the identification, naming and numbering of the municipality’s streets and buildings, works are proceeding to fix street signs and numbering with the intention of solving the major problems affecting the local postal system.
According to Mario Jiménez, the councillor responsible for the Statistics and Local Padron department, many of the problems concerning postal deliveries stem from confusion and lack of clarity regarding local addresses. All the necessary materials and resources are now being applied to rectify the issue, and the Post Office will have a definitive list if addresses from which to distribute the mail. All those experiencing problems regarding their address should visit the ‘estadistica’ office at the Tenencia de Alcaldía in Sabinillas with their certificate of empadronamiento where they will be given their definitive address which then can be passed on to all relevant bodies. Assitance is available for elderly residents to communicate their address to their bank, utility companies, etc. |
