Police foil plot to smuggle a quarter of a tonne of hashish to the UK |

Police officers have seized 227 kilos of hashish from a property on the La Vizcarronda urbanisation in Manilva which had been hidden inside furniture and domestic appliances due to be shipped to the UK. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 39 year old British national, initials K.R.R. who is a resident of Mijas.
According to police sources, officers were alerted on Wednesday, 3rd December, by a local person that a removal company were taking furniture from a property that he had rented. The removal company, which is based in San Roque, appear to be unwitting accomplices in the activity and had been contracted by the arrested man who claimed to be a friend of the tenant of the property. On closer inspection it was discovered that most of the items due for transportation to the UK had been stuffed with around 100 packets of the drugs, totalling 227 kilos. |
