New regulations regarding building materials and skips PDF Print E-mail

Manilva’s Councillor for the Environment and Planning departments, Emilio López Berenguer, has announced the recent introduction of a levy for building materials, skips and construction equipment, which occupy public areas and thoroughfares.

The aim is to encourage people to find alternative locations where they are less of an inconvenience to the public.

Those people who wish to install skips, plant, etc on public land must seek permission from Manilva Planning Department for each item, and the positioning of skips, etc, will be subject to instruction from the Local Police.

Containers will not be permitted to obstruct footpaths and other access points, nor will they be allowed on beaches, public gardens and other areas where the transit of vehicles is not permitted.

All containers must be equipped with covers that, whilst not interfering with the use of the container, will prevent any bad odours and also improve the appearance. In addition a bond of 50 euros for each authorised container must be lodged to cover any possible damage to road services, or any reinstatements.

All local companies likely to be affected by this will be notified of this new regulation.
