Juan Carlos Morejón crowned Mister Malaga 2009
A glamourous and spectacular show was held at the Duquesa hotel and golf club on Friday the 12th of September, an event which put Manilva on the map where hard work and excellent organisation came together to give all who attended a night to remember.
Last year, local girl Isabel Maria Mena was crowned Miss Malaga at the event held in Alhaurin de la Torre and Juan Carlos Morejón was runner up. This year, the local lad came through to be crowned Mister elegance and Mister Malaga and will represent the Province in the contest of Mister Spain 2009. Luck wasn't with Manilva's representative Patricia Muñoz who missed out on the crown for Miss Malaga, this year's winner was Melanie Santiago Durán representing Malaga capital. The 40 participants arrived in Manilva on the Tuesday and paid visits to the Town Hall where they were greeted by the Mayoress Antonia Muñoz, they were taken on tours around the municipality including Sabinillas and the port of Duquesa. It was a high-profile media event for all those municipalities who participated in the project and a way of offering its young participants, the possibility of expanding their knowledge and nurturing a future at a professional level within the world of fashion, television, advertising and everything related to the performing arts. Both Miss & Mister Malaga 2008, will represent the province in the next contest for Miss and Mister Spain 2009 which takes place each year at Marina D'or in Castellon. |
