29th January
A presentation of all the events and activities for the winter period will be held at the Castle in Castillo de la Duquesa at 1.30 pm.
This will be followed by the first 'Day of the Tapa' to be held at Restaurante Antonio in Castillo at 2 pm. Enjoy a variety of tapas in pleasant surroundings and get to know the best local bars and restaurants. The first tapa and drink is free! Tickets are available from The Foreign Residents' office in Castillo or from the Edificio Usos Multiples in Calle Miguel Delibes in Sabinillas.
12th February
Enjoy a relaxing day at The Spa in The Duquesa Golf Hotel, with use of the swimming pool and other facilities, between 10 am and 12 noon (maximum 15 people per group) Contact the Foreign Residents office for more information and price.
17th February
There will be an informative talk about local Social Services. All you need to know about the Law of Dependency which deals with help for people with mobility and health problems; How to obtain a handicapped sticker for your car; The emergency telephone provided by the Andalucian Government; Holidays for retired people; Thermal treatments, etc.
This talk will be given by the Councillor responsible for Social Services, and an expert from her team, and an interpreter will be there to translate and to help with the question and answer session.
This will take place at 5 pm in the Edificio Usos Multiples, Calle Miguel Delibes, Sabinillas in the room used for Spanish classes.
19th February
Excursion to Tangiers
Come and enjoy this exotic city. Travel by coach, ferry and a guided tour of the city, visiting The Souk and enjoy a typical Moroccan meal (drinks not included) with the afternoon free for sightseeing and shopping. Passport or National ID card nedessary.

26th February
Dinner and Flamenco Spectacular at Meson Reina, Sabinillas from 8 pm.
Come and enjoy a wonderful evening with live Flamenco music and an exquisite dinner.
Menu: Hors d'oevres - typical Iberian food, ham, cheese, prawns, tortilla, etc.
Main course - salad, paella de mariscos
Wine, beer, soft drinks or water.
Coffee, tea or dessert
Price 15 euros. Places are limited so book early at the Foreign Residents office.
Poster Competition
Entries are invited for a competition to design the poster for this year's IX Manilva International Festival. There is a prize of 150€ for the winning design which will be used to promote the Festival.
Entries can be submitted at the Foreign Residents' office anytime until the 1st June, with the winner being announced on 8th June, 2010.

Trip to Grazalema - 20th-21st March
Another one to pencil in your diary is a trip to Grazalema. Departing 8 am you will travel by coach, stopping for breakfast en route, arriving in time to check into the hotel for lunch. Afternoon free for exploring the town, walking and shopping, etc.
Sunday, breakfast in hotel returning by the tourist route, visiting areas of interest, with lunch in Ronda and afternoon free for sightseeing. Leaving Ronda at 7 pm.

Spanish Classes for Foreigners - consult the teacher, Even, about timetables and availability of these classes that run from until June in the Edif Usos Multiples in Calle Miguel Delibes, Sabinillas. Telephone 952 893 838.
