The Mayoress of Manilva, Antonia Muñoz Vázquez, accompanied by the Schools Headmaster, Rafael Salcedo, and the representative of Junta de Andalucia’s Provincial Education department, José Nieto, officially opened the CEIP Maicandil School in Sabinillas on Friday, 14th December.
The ceremony, which was also attended by local councillors, teachers, parents and students of the school, involved the unveiling of a plaque followed by refreshments. The school, which has been taking children in limited numbers for just over a year now, will provide 450 places for children at both infant and primary ages and has cost a total of 3,965,229 euros, of which 2,307,691 went on construction with 657,538 for the equipment. The school has 6 classrooms for infants and 12 multipurpose classrooms, a library, a gym, computer room, and dining facilities. |
