A ceremony was held at the offices of the Foreign Residents’ Department at Villa Matilde last Thursday, 4th April, to award the prizes for both the Foreign Residents Logo competition and the Painting Competition.
Presided over by the Councillor for Foreigners, Diega Diez, the Foreigners’ Liaison Officers, Chris Olsen and Belli Muñoz, the presentations were made to the various prize winners. The logo competition had invited members of the community to design a new logo for the Manilva Foreigners’ Department and carried a first prize of 150 euros. There were a number of entries, but of course there could only be one winner, although there were two young entrants who received ‘highly commended’ awards. The painting competition also attracted a number of entries, and prizes were awarded for for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
