Augusto Gil and Yolanda Holgado At a press conference held on Friday, 6th November, the Manilva branch of the PSOE party, stated that the two former ASM councillors, Yolanda Holgado and Augusto Gil, who resigned from their party last June, would be incorporated into the ranks of the PSOE to all intents and purposes giving them a block of six members on the Manilva Town Council.
In a further political development this week there have been discussions between the governing IU, led by mayoress Antonia Muñoz, and the PSOE who are currently supporting the IU in government whilst not holding any delegations, which would see a full pact between the two parties creating an IU/PSOE coalition government in the municipality. The fly in the appointment for the deal though is that the mayoress does not recognise the two rebel councillors as part of the deal stating that only those councillors elected on the PSOE ticket would be invited to join the government, so we should see an interesting few days of horse trading before the expected announcement of a deal sometime next week. |
