Manilva's Finance Department has confirmed that the Patronato de Recaudación Provincial de Málaga, the revenue collection agency, has given the green light to payment of the IBI council tax in instalments as from 2009.

The agreement means that property owners may pay in three ways:
a) In one lump sum between the months of July and September.
b) In two instalments, one in April and a second in October.
c) In nine monthly payments from March to November.

Property owners must apply to pay by instalments by the 20th February, 2009, and payments must be made by standing order through the bank. No interest will be levied on these payments.
Manilva's Finance Department has indicated that, depending on its success, the scheme may be applied to other local taxes from 2010.
