This year’s ‘Carnaval’ celebrations run from Friday, 8th to Sunday, 10th February, and will feature activities and entertainment in each of Manilva’s urban centres, namely Manilva Town, Sabinillas, and Castillo de la Duquesa.

Friday, 8th February - Sabinillas
5.00 pm Grand cavalcade through the streets of Sabinillas.
Plaza Vicente Espinel (behind the taxi rank)
6.00 pm Children’s fancy dress competition with prizes for the three best costumes along with gifts and snacks for all participants.
9.00 pm Official opening speech (Pregon) by television presenter Alonso Caparros.
10.00 pm Adult fancy dress competition with prizes for individual - 1st prize 200 €, 2nd prize 100 €, and groups: 1st prize 400 €, 2nd prize 200 €.
10.30 pm Performance by the Cadiz chirigota ‘los Revelaos’ followed by the comparsa ‘La Banda del Capitán Veneno’.
12.00 midnight Music and dancing to the group ‘Calima’ along with a dance spectacular ‘Tu ciudad baila’ performed by the dance group ‘Havana Night’.

Saturday, 9th February - Manilva Town
4.00 pm Grand cavalcade through the streets of Manilva.
At the top of Calle Mar, Manilva’s ‘High Street’.
5.00 pm Children’s fancy dress competition with prizes for the three best costumes along with gifts and snacks for all participants.
9.00 pm Performance by the Municipal Salsa School directed by Franklin Vargas.
9.30 pm Adult fancy dress competition with prizes for individual - 1st prize 200 €, 2nd prize 100 €, and groups: 1st prize 400 €, 2nd prize 200 €.
10.30 pm Performance by the Cadiz chirogota ‘Los Pito-Risas’.
12.00 midnight Music and dancing to the group ‘Rompeolas’ along with a dance spectacular ‘Tu ciudad baila’ performed by the dance group ‘Havana Night’.

Sunday, 10th February - Castillo de la Duquesa
4.00 pm Grand cavalcade through the streets of Castillo.
Plaza Miramar
5.00 pm Children’s fancy dress competition with prizes for the three best costumes along with gifts and snacks for all participants. Followed by an opportunity for the youngsters to join Franklin Vargas, director of the Municipal Salsa School, in some fun and dancing.
9.30 pm Adult fancy dress competition with prizes for individual - 1st prize 200 €, 2nd prize 100 €, and groups: 1st prize 400 €, 2nd prize 200 €.
10.30 pm Performance by the Municipal Salsa School directed by Franklin Vargas.
12.00 midnight Music and dancing to the group ‘Rompeolas’ along with a dance spectacular ‘Tu ciudad baila’ performed by the dance group ‘Havana Night’.
