According to a report from the Manilva Town Hall, Emilio Lopez, who is councillor for both the Planning and Environment departments, has signed a document ordering the immediate halt of building works being carried out on a plot situated in the Punta Chullera area of Manilva by Ellamere Holdings SL.

This has been enforced by the Policia Local who have taped off the site. According to the councillor these works are being carried out on front line land which has been declared of special environmental interest and which has not been zoned for building. This infraction is considered a serious one and can carry a fine of up 100,000 euros. The works appear to be the renovation of an existing ruin situated on the clifftop close to the Torre Chullera. The councillor has given the company fifteen days to challenge this action. |
