Manilva Commercial Department’s “Bet on our Local Commerce” commerce has proved very popular, with participants including shops and businesses across the whole spectrum of trades and retail such as boutiques, shoeshops, hairdressers, bars, restaurants, hardware stores, butchers, bakers and candlestick makers.

By offering an entry in a prize draw for every purchase over 10 euros spent in participating businesses it is hoped to encourage shoppers to use local shops for their purchases, rather than shop outside of the municipality.

At the end of the scheme, on the 16th August, there will be a grand draw on the promenade in Sabinillas with the winning ticket receiving a prize of a Mediterranean cruise for two (to be taken in September or October); and a second prize of 600 euros to be spent in one day in participating shops.

The scheme will run until the 15th August at businesses displaying the logo (see picture).
