After months of hard work in setting up, the local business association ACEMCE, Asociación de Comerciantes y Empresarios de Manilva, Casares y Estepona, was finally launched officially on Friday, 16th May at a ceremony held in the Castle at Castillo de la Duquesa, Manilva.
Over 100 hundred people attended the launch, which included a presentation of ACEMCE and its committee, a performance by the local music association ASABAM and an exhibition of art by local artists, Mike Emeney and Tony Johnson. Amongst those enjoying the evening were members of the local business community, representatives from a number of banks, television crews from both Manilva and Estepona, press, local politicians and many others. Even though this was just the inauguration ceremony, many useful contacts were made and a number of links forged particular with local interest groups and associations. ACEMCE is committed to bringing together all sections of the business community and to creating a democratic body which will serve the interests of all its members from the self-employed to the bigger companies, and to provide information, education, promotion, networking opportunities and a voice in local affairs. ACEMCE would like to thank Manilva Town Hall’s Cultural and Commercial Departments, ASABAM music group, Mike Emeney and Tony Johnson for their contribution to the success of the launch ceremony.
