According to the Mayoress of Manilva, actions taken by the Town Hall’s Department of Finance and Taxes concerning the elimination of rental charges, has resulted in a situation where the Town Hall will be able to save around 4,000 euros a month for the municipal coffers.

In a measure to reorganise municipal services and optimise existing resourses, it has been possible to rescind the contracts of the department of “Fomento de Empleo”, situated opposite the Town Hall, whose monthly rental was 670 euros, the “Casa de la Juventud” in Castillo, which cost of over 820 euros and the post office in Manilva with a monthly cost of 680 euros.

The Councillor for Taxes, Diego Díaz, declared that none of these services will be stopped, as for the Casa de la Juventud in Castillo will be housed in a nearby construction, the areas of Human Resources and Employment will be moved to the former Council session meeting room and the local officer for promotion and employment will work from the second floor of the Town Hall. The post office for Manilva will work from the former Justice for the Peace’s offices which are municipal buildings.

Also, the rental contract for a plot of land situated next to the football ground has been rescinded and has been designated as a parking area.

To these revenues can be added the savings from the use of water, electricity, telephone and internet, alarms and maintenance, for which the total saving per month is over 4,000 euros.

Both the Mayoress and Councillor for Taxes point out that the decision to rescind these rental contracts are within those measures being adopted to  reduce and eliminate current expenses of the Town Hall of Manilva.
