International Festival

Now in its eighth year, the Manilva International Festival is an opportunity for the different nationalities which make up Manilva’s multi-ethnic community to showcase their culture, arts and gastronomy.

The Foreigners Department, has begun preparations for this year's VIII Manilva International Festival, which will be held on Friday, 10th and Saturday, 11th July on the Paseo Maritimo in Sabinillas.

This provides an opportunity for visitors to the festival to discover the traditions, cuisine and culture of the various countries participating in the event.

Participating countries this year include: Spain, England, Germany, Chile, Lebanon, Peru, Bolivia, France, Morocco, Thailand, Brazil, Cuba, Argentina, Paraguay, Colombia, Israel, and Ecuador.

Programme:

Friday, 10th July

8.00 pm - Inauguration and performance by the Manilva Town Band.

8.15 pm - Colominanta, typical dance of Colombia.

8.25 pm - Bolivian Dancing.

8.35 pm - Traditional music of Paraguay.

8.45 pm - Martina Merkel Dance Academy.

8.55 pm - Rhythms of Cuba with Magali.

9.15 pm - Concert by local singer Peter Charles .

10.00 pm - The theatre group "Deucalión" present the production “La Muy Divertida Comedia y La Muerte de Píramo y Tisbe”.

Saturday, 11th July

From 10.30 am to 12.30 pm there will be children's activities including workshops, games, dancing, etc. The Martina Merkel Dance Academy will also entertain the children with some Rock 'n' Roll dancing.

1.00 pm - The theatre company "Alamar" will present the stage production "En Busca del Tesoro".

9.00 pm - Martina Merkel Dance Academy.

9.10 pm - Los Barrios Flamenco Dance School.

9.20 pm - Iplacea Dance Academy perform dances from around the World.

9.50 pm - Brazilian Mulata.

10.00 pm - Music and dance from Morocco.

10.10 pm - Billy Robins sings Sinatra.

10.30 pm - Spectacular Capoeira display.

10.40 pm - Songs of Bolivia.

10.50 pm - Hot rhythms of Cuba.

11.00 pm - The romantic Argentinean Walter Cantero.

21.15 pm - Traditional Garabato of Colombia by Dona Martínez.

11.30 pm - Close
