Enrolment of children into any public school in Spain is obligatorily carried out on a yearly basis throughout their education by their parents or guardians.

Obligatory enrolment for all students of the secondary school takes place this year from the 2nd to the 10th July, and this is regardless of whether or not the student is repeating a year of studies i.e., not moving up, they are still required to re-enrol in the school.

Any student who has not formalised their enrolment during the above period will not be guaranteed placement in optional subjects for which they are eligible, and will have to take whatever vacancies are left after the July enrolment.  Further opportunity for enrolment will not be possible again until the beginning of September.

Enrolment for the different courses will take place on the following dates between the hours of 10 am and 1 pm:

2nd, 3rd & 4th July - 1st and 2nd year students

5th & 6th July - 3rd and 4th year students

9th & 10th July – Bachillerato (Baccalaureate), Programa Garantia Social (PGS)*

*Formation programs for young people without professional qualifications designed to improve their general education and to enable them to carry out certain functions and jobs.  The aim of these programs is to help the student to get into the labour market or back into education.

10th to 15th July – Obligatory enrolment and reservation of student place in Ciclos Formativos (Vocational Training)

In addition to the documentation that the school will provide and require to be completed and returned within the above stated time limits, the student also needs to supply the following:

A photocopy of their passport, DNI or NIE

4 photographs (with the full name of the student written on the reverse of each one)

Documentation supporting studies carried out in the educational year 2006/07 including any reports from schools attended outside of Spain i.e., in the student’s own country during the year.

A Voluntary Renouncement Form should be requested at this time for signature by the parent or guardian of the student should they not wish the child to be included in the free text books program which commences this year for first and third year students at ordinary level.
