Town Hall gives up its official car
Written by El Duque
Monday, 13 July 2009
Manilva Town Hall has terminated the lease of the Audi A6 which served as the Ayuntamiento's official vehicle.
The Mayoress, Antonia Muñoz, has stated that the elimination of this expense will save the council coffers some 67,200 euros, taking into account the 7,000 euro deposit and a four year contract at 1,400 euros per month.
Whilst it will be a loss to the image of the municipality as the vehicle was used when the mayoress or her councillors needed to attend official engagements outside the municipality, the current state of the municipalities funds makes this facility an expensive luxury and so this decision has been taken.
