 Augusto Gil and Yolanda Holgado At a press conference held on Friday, 6th November, the Manilva branch of the PSOE party, stated that the two former ASM councillors, Yolanda Holgado and Augusto Gil, who resigned from their party last June, would be incorporated into the ranks of the PSOE to all intents and purposes giving them a block of six members on the Manilva Town Council. |

The Cruz Roja, the Spanish Red Cross, have reported a number of incidents throughout the Province of individuals fraudulently collecting money allegedly on behalf of the Red Cross, using collecting tins sporting their logo. |

The notary's office in Sabinillas has moved from its former location in Plaza Vicente Espinel to new, and larger, offices in Calle Antonio Gala, Nº 1, local 5 in Urb Maria Teresa, just above and behind SuperSol (on the Sabinillas - Manilva road). As of Tuesday, 20th October all business will be handled at this new address. |

The balls fell right for one lucky punter in Sabinillas last Saturday. In the La Primitiva lottery a resident of Sabinillas successfully predicted all six numbers to win a jackpot of 1.3 million euros. The numbers were 3 - 6 - 18 - 23 - 39 - 41. |

Manilva autumn programme of walks |

The autumn programme of hikes, organised by Manilva's environment department, begins this coming Sunday, 25th October with a walk from Manilva to El Secadero, a hike of 14 kms and medium difficulty. This will be followed on the 22nd November with the Manilva-San Enrique route; and on the 17th January by the Sabinillas-Canuto de los molinos route.

Manilva Vendimia Flamenco Festival 2009 |

 This year's Vendimia Flamenco Festival will take place on Friday, 4th September and will open the weekend's Grape Harvest Festival.
The festival will take place at the Municipal School of Music above the Police Station in Manilva and will feature a number of artists including Luis Perdiguero, Rosi Navarro (La Divi), Bonela Hijo, Andrés Lozano and Ana Fargas, among others. The festival starts at 10 pm and entrance is free. |
