Manilva's Foreigners Department was set up to act as liaison between the foreign community and the Town Hall, and aims to provide help and advice with dealings with the various departments, and to guide people through the sometimes bewildering bureaucracy governing day to day life in Spain.
The department also organises cultural events and excursions, such as the annual Manilva International Festival, to help foreign residents integrate into the local community. The services of the department are available to anyone on the town register (padron) with limited facilities available to those not registered. Although the department is there to help foreign residents it should be noted that it is not a tourist office and information of a tourism related nature should be sought from the Tourist Office in Puerto de la Duquesa or in Sabinillas. The Foreigners Department has its offices in the Castle in Castillo de la Duquesa. The office can be found to the left of the entrance, and is open from 8 am to 2 pm Monday to Friday. You can also contact Chris or Beli on 952 893 548 or 663 969 636.
