On Saturday 26th September, ‘The Festival for Life’ event will take place in three different venues all starting at 5 pm until late in aid of Cudeca Hospice.
Some of the acts will perform at all three venues, the Duquesa Castle in Manilva, the Nutty Bar in Marbella and CJ’s Karaoke bar in Bonanza Square, Benalmadena.
The musicians/singers are all donating their performances to Cudeca for the evening and they are some of the accomplished on the coast and the UK. The entrance fee is only 5 euros which includes a finger buffet in all three venues as well as a charity raffle. A VIP table is 25 euros and all proceeds go to Cudeca Hospice.
The line-up for the Castle in Castillo de la Duquesa, compered by Dave ‘Sinatra’ Parker, includes: The Universal “Unplugged”, Hannah Hawksure , Ms King, Jordana, Just Jake, Vicky Jaye, Laura Jackson, Chloe Caron, Luke B, and the Sabi Allstars Band.

Manilva’s Foreign Residents Department, headed by Councillor Dean Shelton, have organised a presentation of the programme of events and activities for the coming 12 months on Friday 25 September, from 7 pm in the Castle in Castillo de la Duquesa.
As well as the presentation there will be entertainment by Eva Cabrera and her flamenco dancers and Daniela Caballero.
There will also be refreshments and paella served to all those in attendance.
The local water utility, Hidralia, have announced that due to major works on the municipality’s water infrastructure the supply will be cut for five hours on Wednesday 23 September from 9 am to 2 pm, which will affect the whole of the municipality including all urbanisations and rural areas.
Hidralia apoligise for any inconvenience during these essential works.
The IV End of Summer Bash, in Sabinillas on Saturday 12 September, was a resounding success with hundreds of people turning out to enjoy over eleven hours of live music from some of the Coast’s best music acts.
Held each year around this time, the End of Summer Bash provides a fitting end to the summer season, whilst at the same time raising funds for the Duquesa Charitable Society of St George.
This year the event raised a total of 1,616.64€ which will go towards the charity’s Christmas Gift Campaign.
The event was organised by Fathoms Bar, Manilva Foreign Residents Department, and the Duquesa Charitable Society of St George.

The municipal water company Hidralia have opened a new Customer Service office in Sabinillas. The office in Calle Miguel Delibes was inaugurated this morning by the Mayor of Manilva, Diego José Jimenez, Deputy Mayor, Antonio Barragan along with senior officials of Hidralia.
The head of Hidralia in Andalucia, Matilde Mancha, stated that “to begin with, the office will be open every Tuesday from 9 am to 1 pm, depending on the demand for customer services.
The office will deal with all enquiries except new contracts, which will continue to be dealt with at our office in Manilva. Also, for security reasons customers will not be able to make payments in cash”.
The fourth annual End of Summer will be held on Saturday 12 September opposite Fathoms Bar and Hotel Recio.
Organised by the Duquesa Charitable Society of St George and Fathoms Bar in collaboration with Manilva’s Foreign Residents Department there will be a packed programme of activities and entertainment from 1 pm till midnight.
Some of the best musical acts on the coast will be performing, free of charge, including: Charley & Phil Evans, Peter Charles, Gary Pest, Mandy L & Ger, Dani & Brian, The Educators, Sabi Allstars Band, Rob Sas, ODAC, Gaz, Stelvis, plus various special guests, with the larger than life Biagra providing the finale.
There will also be craft stalls, face painting, bouncy castle, raffle, and a blind auction.
