Manilva’s Youth Department has organised a Manilva Events Festival Pre-Party at the Chiringuito El Garito de Juan situated near the Don Juan Aparthotel on Playa de los Toros this Friday, July 12.

The event comprises two parts, the first beginning at 8 pm is a ‘Water Party’ with some 300 water pistols available for participants.

The second part beginning at 10 pm takes the revellers through to 4 am in the morning with a taste of 100% Manilva Events Festival with gifts and surprises and great music from Manilva Deejay “DJ Nathan”.

Flamenco Dance Spectacular in Sabinillas this Sunday

Manilva’s Fiestas Department has organised a Flamenco Spectacular for this Sunday, July 14 from 10 pm in the Plaza Vicente Espinel, Sabinillas.

Starring students from the Cristina Seguin School of Dance and the Municipal Flamenco Dance School the event promises a fabulous evening of traditional Spanish dance.

Miss Thang at Castillo de la Duquesa

Miss Thang at the Castle

Dynamic funk and soul singer, Miss Thang, will be doing her ‘thang’ in Manilva once again at the Castle in Castillo de la Duquesa on Friday, July 26, from 8 pm.

After wowing the audience at this year’s Children’s Benefit Concert in Manilva, and more recently in Duquesa Port at the ‘Help For Heroes’ fundraiser, this time she will be backed by her five-piece band ‘Legal Aliens’ for a night of disco, soul, rock, funk, jazz and reggae, in fact something for everyone.

Tickets are just 20 euros per person including a free bar until 11.45 pm. Tickets can only be purchased in advance at the Leisure Lounge in Duquesa Port and will not be available on the night.

Doors open at 8 pm.

Soul Train at La Bella Vista

Manilva’s Camping Bella Vista plays host to ‘Soul Train’ this Saturday July 13 from 8 pm.

From the producers of the Jersey Boys and the Four Top’s tribute shows, now comes this brand new spectacular “Soul Train”.

These three guys have just landed from Cape Town, South Africa, to bring this show to the Costa Del Sol.

The sheer showmanship, skill, and talent they bring to the stage is simply amazing, not to mention the special humour they also bring in their unique style, blending with this great show.

Performing hits such as ‘Dont Blame It On The Boogie’, ‘My Girl’, ‘Sexy Thing’ to name just a few in this look back at some of the best classic soul.

3×3 Pro Basketball tournament

3x3 Pro Basketball Tour Poster

Spain’s 3×3 Pro Basketball Tour celebrates its latest leg in Manilva this weekend, 12 and 13 July on the promenade at La Noria, Sabinillas starting at 7 pm.

On Friday there will be kid’s minibasket competition as a warm up for Saturday’s main event.

Manilva is the only location in Andalucia hosting a leg of the Pro Tour this year, with winners from this event going on to the finals in Barcelona later this year.

All spectators are welcome to come along and enjoy this fast action sport.

Alcántara awarded ‘Business of the Month’

Business of the Month

The Mayoress of Manilva, Antonia Muñoz Vázquez, and the Councillor for Commerce, Diego Díaz, presented Paco Alcántera with the award for ‘Business of the Month’ at his bar restaurant in Manilva recently.

The award, which was the result of a telephone vote, aims to recognise local businesses in Manilva’s gastronomy and hospitality sector, and will be presented monthly.

III Classic Car Rally 2013

Classic Car Rally 2013

Around 40 classic vehicles are expected to turn out for Manilva’s III Classic Car Rally.

These venerable motors will muster at the Castle in Castillo de la Duquesa at approximately 10.30 am after which they will drive up to Manilva where they will stop in Manilva’s main street, Calle Mar at 11.30 pm.

Following a tapa in one of the local hostelries they will then drive down to Sabinillas for a procession around the town before setting off to Puerto de la Duquesa where they will park up around the harbour and in Ros y Falcon’s car park whilst the owners nip off for a spot of lunch at 2 – 2-30 pm.

All timings are of course approximate.
