Beach restoration works commence in Sabinillas

Beach repairs in Sabinillas

Manilva’s Beach Department has announced that works have begun to take some 25,000 cubic metres of sand from the beach to the east of Puerto Duquesa, which will be distributed along the length of the Sabinillas/La Colonia beach.

Months of predominantly easterly winds has resulted in a substantial amount of beach erosion and this operation will rectify the situation.

The Town Hall of Manilva has apologised for the poor timing of this operation and any inconvenience caused but this is out of their control as it is the responsibility of Malaga Coastal Authorities who are footing the entire cost.

It is anticipated that the works will take around five days after which the beaches will be restored to their full glory ready for San Juan and the summer season.
